I’m blessed to have the best mom in the world. She’s always there for me no matter what, she’s there to comfort me, to give me a hug or a phone call when I’ve had a bad day. She genuinely is an angel and possibly the best person I know. I know she’ll read this post at one point. I’m writing this because it’s all true though, not just because she’ll see this post.
Today is Mother’s Day. This day is one of my favorites, always have been. I’ve always had a very good relationship with my mom. But I know that that’s not the case for everyone. If you’re struggling with today, just know that we see you and love you. Whether your relationship with your mom/child is broken, you’ve lost a child, you’ve lost a parent, your mother left, you want children but can’t have them, just know that you are not alone. This day (along with father’s day) can be hard for many. We all struggle with things and often times we keep it inside like a secret. I just want to let you know today that there are people that understand what you’ve been through and what you’re feeling. All we have to do is start the conversation. It can be hard, it can be painful, it can bring up old hurts and traumas but I promise it will be worth it to let someone know that they’re not alone. And in that you might find relief from your own pain.
And for those of you who have great mothers, loving mothers, imperfect but good mothers, celebrate her today. Understand how truly blessed you are to have a mother in your life. I know I am.
To all the mothers out there, this day is for you. You’re strong and resilient and amazing and you make the world a better place.
And to my mom specifically, thank you for the unconditional love. I love you.
